Calculating buoyancy for a floating dock.

Length of the dock x Width of the dock = Square feet of the dock.
Square feet of the dock x 30 lbs. per sq. ft. = Total buoyancy needed.
Divide total buoyancy by 920 (this float) = number of floats needed.

EXAMPLE
8’ wide x 20’ long = 8160 sq. ft. x 30 = 4,800 total weight
4,800 total weight divided by 920 = 5.2 floats
Round up to 6 floats.

This is only a suggestion. More floats may be needed for extra stability.
Dock frame material, decking material and total top load weight need to be considered when determining number of floats needed.
